Bon Secours St. Francis Eastside and Bon Secours St. Francis Downtown both received an “A” grade in the Spring 2026 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, acknowledging the hospitals’ achievements in providing safer health care.

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to all general hospitals across the country based on more than thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
