Career Aspiration as a Child

In middle school, my love with science was born. First, I wanted to be a nurse, then a doctor. But when I learned about Madame Marie Curie, I was fascinated by her discoveries and inspired by her work. My career in clinical science and healthcare was born.

Tell us about your role in SC’s Life Sciences Ecosystem…

Afaxys contrasts with the usual ‘Big Pharma model’, in fact, it flips it on its head. Our philosophy is to put purpose over profit instead of selling at the highest price at the highest possible margin. Afaxys stands as the #1 provider of oral and emergency contraceptives in U.S. clinics and is unique in its focused demographic: public health patients and the providers who care for them.

What are you focused on in the next year?

For 2024 and beyond, we are making exciting progress in drug development. Considering the restrictions that now make access to reproductive healthcare more difficult for patients in large parts of the US, access to affordable contraception is more important than ever. We are diligently working to advance contraceptive healthcare, and to that end, we hope to become THE known and trusted/sexual and reproductive healthcare brand for community and public health patients and the providers who serve them.
